Helpful tip to effectively erasing detail in acrylic paint using the eraser pencil and electric eraser
Pencil erasers are a great way of adding minute detail and texture to your paintings (using acrylics). These are designed to wear away thin layers of paint to reveal colours underneath. However, this technique can be done quicker (or more aggressively if desired) using an electric eraser. The Jakar electric erasers we use have tips that are only useful for pencil, pastel and chalks. They are too soft for acrylic. However, by whittling down the core of the eraser pencil (pink for soft and white for hard), this can be substituted in the electric eraser (use a little masking tape wrapped around to help aid a better fit).
